Over 30 million people wear dentures in the United States. Apparently, several types of denture cream products, including POLI-GRIP and FIXODENT, may pose a hazard to denture wearers. Denture cream containing zinc may create a copper deficiency in a person's body. If a denture wearer is suffering from unexplained weakness, numbness, loss of sensation or other nerve symptoms, or has been diagnosed with a condition called neuropathy, denture cream zinc may be the cause of the symptoms and health problems. Blood tests can determine whether a denture wearer with nerve problems has a zinc overdose.

Studies indicate that zinc poisoning or zinc overdose may result from the use of denture creams which contain zinc, including POLI-GRIP and FIXODENT. Hydroxycut is advertised as made from natural ingredients. It accounts for about 90 percent of the market for weight loss supplements, with sales of about 1 million bottles a year.
Dietary supplements are not as tightly regulated by the government as medications. Manufacturers don't need FDA approval ahead of time before marketing their products.

The London-based company faces about 9,000 lawsuits claiming it failed to properly warn users that Seroquel can cause diabetes and other health problems. Now, "Bayer, General Electric Co., and Tyco International Ltd. are among companies facing more than 300 lawsuits over complaints that contrast agents containing the chemical gadolinium may increase the risk of death in patients with weak kidneys."
